Je-an Salas Leavens, RMT
A classically educated professional ballet dancer, formerly danced with Ballet Philippines for 2 years, The National Ballet of Canada from 1991, soloist from 2001 and retired in 2008. My curiosity about anatomy and body mechanics supports my passion for movement and helping people move better. I'm interested in investigating where your stiffness, discomfort, or pain is coming from so you can return to doing activities you love and move with ease. In some cases, where symptoms present themselves the problem is somewhere else but it could also be where the problem is. This is where educating my clients is of importance. I look at the whole body, follow the clues your body presents, zone into a local area with curiosity, and look at the whole body again. I help to restore movements your body had adapted from acquired injuries, habitual movement patterns and not so useful posture. I utilize postural and joint motion assessment as well as gait analysis, as they are essential to my sessions. Working together with my clients interactively as a team helps to create an environment that improves freedom of motion in all joints where you can develop more strength, power, flexibility and empower performance.
